National project
Positively Women’s national project aims to reduce inequalities in HIV support services for women
outside London.
We facilitate support groups around the country holding workshops at George House Trust in Manchester, Body Positive Dorset in Bournemouth and ISIS Brighton. Recently we started work with The Ribbon Centre in Southampton, ISIS (Waverly Care) in Edinburgh and North East Aids Support in Newcastle.
We have also worked with community groups in Essex and Hull where there is currently no
service provision.
Collaboration with other projects has strengthened the national element of our work. The involvement of other HIV organisations such as National AIDS Trust and the International Community of Women Living with HIV/AIDS (ICW) has increased the project’s visibility.
Positively Women is now taking the lead, working with the ICW, in developing the National Positive Women’s Network, and training regional co-ordinators.
